New Delhi: AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi has objected to the government’s decision to extend the tenure of Army Chief Manoj Pandey for one month. He has questioned the government’s capability by tweeting one after the other on social media. He says that it is not right to extend the tenure of the Army Chief during the election campaign. The Modi government was well aware of his retirement, so the name of the officer who would replace Manoj Pandey should have been decided earlier.

One month service extension

Owaisi said that the extension given to General Pandey is only for one month, which means it is a temporary measure. This shows the governance deficiencies of this government. If this is not incompetence, then it is more sinister and conspiratorial.

Armed forces must be kept away from politics

Owaisi said, our armed forces should be kept away from politics by the ruling party. But in the last decade we have seen that the Modi regime has used and misused our soldiers for its electoral gains. We have seen this on the China border where our soldiers are unable to patrol the LAC. The move to extend General Pandey’s retirement reflects poorly on PM Modi, the Defence Minister and all those involved in taking decisions on India’s national security.

General Pandey was to retire on 31 May

Let us tell you that the central government has issued a notification extending the tenure of Army Chief General Manoj Pandey for one month. He was to retire from the post on 31 May. Manoj Pandey took over as Army Chief on 30 April 2022. In the notification issued by the government, the tenure of the Army Chief has been extended till 30 June.
