The temple guard became a thief
Thane: The person working as a watchman in the Ulhasnagar Kalimata temple adjacent to Kalyan turned out to be a thief. Watchman Ramesh Rawal has absconded with his partner after stealing 12 tolas of gold. He has also absconded with the CCTV of the temple to hide the theft. Ramesh Thapa alias Ramesh Rawal was employed as a watchman in the Kalimata temple three days ago. These accused absconded after committing three thefts on Saturday morning.
Police is investigating the matter
A case has been registered in this matter at Vitthalwadi police station of Kalyan. Senior police officer of the police station Anil Padwal sent a special team and investigation of the case has started. Due to the theft of gold from the idol of God in the temple, there is an atmosphere of fear in the surrounding area. The police station has asked people to be cautious.
The accused was doing recce in the area for three days
Police say that the accused of theft will be arrested soon. It is being told that Ramesh Rawal used to do survey of the area around the temple three days ago before joining his job. He carried out the theft after planning the entire area of the temple and the path around the temple. The trustee of the temple has said that we had suspected this beforehand.
Demand to arrest the accused soon
The priest of the temple said that Kalimata temple is 65 years old. People have faith in this temple and they come here with great devotion. The general secretary of the temple, Surjeet Burman said that our demand is that the accused should be arrested as soon as possible.
