New Delhi : BharatPe co-founder and Shark Tank India judge Ashneer Grover and his wife Madhuri Jain Grover have been given a big blow by the Delhi High Court. The court has issued an order to Ashneer and his wife to deposit Rs 80 crore as security before they go to America. The court said in its comment on May 24 that the security should be in the form of property. Along with this, Ashneer and his wife have also been asked to surrender the Emirates card to stop their UAE trip.

The court has also ordered Ashneer Grover and his wife to surrender the Emirates Card (Golden Visa) deposited with them, which is a 10-year residence permit given to foreign nationals in the UAE. The Delhi High Court had sought information about Ashneer Grover’s travel from the Economic Office Wing, which revealed that Ashneer Grover wanted to go to America for the summer school of his children.

What did the court say?

The court has given permission to Ashneer Grover and his wife to travel to America, but they will have to provide their place of stay, hotel, travel plan and phone number. Apart from this, Ashneer will also have to provide all his information to the investigating agencies. Ashneer Grover will leave for America on 26 May and will return to India on 14 June. Ashneer’s wife Madhuri Jain will go to America on 15 June and will return to India on 1 July.

81 crore fraud

The Economic Offenses Wing had directed that the couple should not be allowed to go abroad. According to EOW, Ashneer Grover and his wife also have properties abroad. In such a situation, it is possible that they may not return to India. The couple has been accused of fraud of about Rs 81 crore with the fintech company BharatPe.
